The Civic Theatre will come alive to the sound of world-class jazz on this Saturday April 10, as the Emma Pask Quartet comes to Gunnedah, featuring Emma Pask on vocals, Kevin Hunt on Piano, Brett Hirst on bass and Tim Geldens on Drums- a quartet of some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians.
Emma Pask's effortless honest stage presence combined with her powerful vocal ability, leaves audiences spellbound and inspired. Emma is sure to delight as she interweaves storytelling through timeless swinging jazz standards, upbeat Latin rhythms, tender ballads and of course some raucous blues.
Well known for spending the last 20 years in concert with jazz virtuoso James Morrison, he says of Emma: “Whilst it’s fashionable to be a jazz singer these days, she is the real thing!”
On Saturday afternoon, Emma will lead a workshop with St Mary's College students and they will open Saturday night's concert.
Doors to The Civic will open at 7pm, St Mary's College Band (who will be involved in a workshop during the afternoon) will perform from about 7:15pm and The Emma Pask Quartet will be on stage at 7:30pm. The Quartet will play two sets, with an interval and the concert will conclude at about 9:30pm.
