Survey - What does the Con mean to you?

We want to hear from you.

Please take a couple of minutes to complete our survey on what the Conservatorium means to you. And then get someone else in your house to complete as well. Thanks in advance.

We look forward to reading your feedback.

Survey can be found here

Snugglepot and Cuddlepie

Current restrictions make resumption of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie rehearsals and our Musical Performance Group on Mondays difficult at this point in time.

We are committed to presenting this show. We are optimistic that we can mount the show by the end of Term 3 or very early in Term 4 though this is dependent on the easing of restrictions and the ability to resume full rehearsals and book performances in council venues.

Cast members are asked to complete the survey at  www.surveymonkey.com/r/RRZKX63 regarding their commitment to the show.

We will resume rehearsals on Mondays from next Monday 15 June. Until the end of Term 2 these will be rostered rehearsals with small groups (5 and under) from 3:30 to 5pm will be allocated for rehearsals.

Cast members - Please pull out your script and familiarise yourself with the story and lyrics. You can also download the soundtrack from Apple Music and other online music services. Search for Snugglepot and Cuddlepie the Musical - In Concert by Peter Combe.

If you have lost the script, please contact the office and we will arrange a replacement.

Early Childhood Music hits Zoom

After delivering a shortened program via zoom in Term 2, we are planning for a return to face-to-face for Term 3.

Over the last few weeks we have utilised Facebook Live, YouTube and more recently Zoom to keep the connection with our Early childhood Music (ECM) students.

We have also started delivering Early Childhood Music sessions direct to a local preschool. We are happy to extend ECM sessions to preschool and childcare centres via zoom and you can contact the Conservatorium on 6742 3998 for more information.

Some of you have asked about face-to-face classes resuming and of course that is what we would love to do. At this point, the Gunnedah Conservatorium is considering reconvening some smaller ensembles and groups (with less than 10 participants including staff). Unfortunately, ECM participation numbers exceed current guidelines in relation to the number of people allowed to gather. We are also mindful that schools have returned with strict guidelines to not gather students from other schools for events like debating or sport. Considering this we do not feel it would be responsible to bring a group of students from several Gunnedah childcare, preschools and schools together at the Conservatorium.

Another requirement is to adhere to the 4 square metre rule across the Conservatorium and early childhood music groups would impact on our ability to do so. We have decided to err on the side of caution and wait until Term 3 before bringing the groups of children back to the Con. We understand that some of you may be hesitant to return even then.

When we resume our Early Childhood Music and Poco a Poco classes, we will offer students their original class time from Term 1. We’re grateful for your understanding at this time and will be back in touch later in this term to confirm interest so we can organise classes for Semester 3.

Please keep following our Early Childhood Music group on Facebook.
