Youth Band Project - Get Involved

The Gunnedah Youth Band Project is a youth-led initiative that empowers young people to make music together and take creative ownership of their performances.

Open to students of all instruments and experience levels, the project gives participants the chance to develop their musical skills, learn to play in an ensemble, and share the excitement of live performance.

Guided by mentor Sewa Emojong, students take the lead in shaping their musical journey — choosing repertoire, developing ideas, and building their own creative voice. The project aims to inspire a lifelong love of music, encourage teamwork and leadership, and strengthen connections among young people through the shared experience of making music together.

Whether you’re just starting out or already playing in school or community groups, the Gunnedah Youth Band Project is a great way to grow as a musician, make new friends, and be part of something created and driven by youth.
