ChillCheney are hitting the road, bringing their genre-bending sound, high-energy live performance and creative workshops to regional and remote communities across NSW and Queensland.

Blending alternative hip hop, rock, soul, pop and jazz, ChillCheney combine honest storytelling, soaring vocals, expressive guitar and live instrumentation into a sound uniquely their own.

Alongside their explosive live performance, ChillCheney will deliver an interactive music workshop to connect, create and explore music together.

9:00am-10:30am – Songwriting & Music Workshop

The session will focus on supporting students to write and develop their own original song. Through practical and engaging activities, students will explore:

• Songwriting techniques
• Lyric writing
• Performance skills
• Creative collaboration
• Storytelling and self-expression

Students will work together to create an original piece that they can proudly perform. Following the workshop, they will have the opportunity to perform their songs as part of a supportive open mic showcase.

10:30am-11:00am– Live Performance

Students will then enjoy a live performance by ChillCheney, a Sydney-based rock and hip hop band featuring live drums, guitar, vocals and rap.

The program provides students with a unique opportunity to learn directly from working First Nations music industry professionals, gain insight into pathways within the creative industries, and experience the full journey from songwriting and music creation through to live performance, all in one day.

Expect big energy, raw emotion, live music, creativity and connection, with a performance and workshop experience that refuses to fit neatly into one genre.
