Gunnedah Conservatorium is partnering with Dr Jaz Daniells, medical doctor and theatre artist, to provide community-centred school holiday workshops in drama and movement. The workshops aim to build theatre interest in the community, foster social connection and artistic expression, and lead to an improved sense of fulfilment and wellbeing. Workshops will run over three days and be catered toward three groups:
Children over 8,
Older teens and
Adults.
The workshops will run in the second week of the school holidays at the Smithurst Theatre in Gunnedah

10am to 12noon Thursday and Friday: For primary students, two morning workshops with movement exercises and theatre games
2:00 to 4:30pm Wednesday to Friday: Young people's workshops (focusing on high school, older teens) run over three days, with a focus on movement, improvisation and storytelling. The "devised" workshop session will focus on storytelling, in this the teens will select an issue important to them to work on. They will learn how to share this with an audience.
6 to 8pm Thursday: The adults' workshop will provide introductory movement and improvisation classes - with a focus on active living and community building.
