Next Up Music Awards | Applications Open//Nominate Today by Friday 2 October

The Next Up Music Awards are a new national contemporary music event for school-aged creators and their music teachers, taking place on Thursday 28 January 2027 at Carriageworks in Sydney.

The Next Up Music Awards (NUMAs) are now presenting the Music Teacher of the Year Award, and we’d love to see Gunnedah represented again!

It’s completely free to enter and we have award categories for students, schools, and teachers.

Our partners and patrons include Troye Sivan, Sia, Guy Sebastian, ARIA, Spotify, Music Australia and the Australian Government.

There are lots of ways to get involved:

• 8 student awards – songwriting, performance, production + more
• 3 school awards – recognising Performing Arts Schools and music education
• 2 Music Teacher of the Year awards – for both Primary and Secondary
• 20 student internships – behind-the-scenes experience as part of the NUMAs team
• Alumni Pathways – mentorships, masterclasses and career opportunities for students aged 15+

Nominations close Friday 2 October, with the awards taking place at Carriageworks, Sydney, on Thursday 28 January 2027.
